Get Home Safely this Christmas

Christmas tree and bauble.jpgDuring the festive season, before heading out to celebrate, please make sure you pre book your journey home with a licensed Private Hire Operator.

There are two types of ‘taxi’ licensed by Flintshire County Council. The first are Hackney Carriages, which look like a traditional black cab. The majority of licensed vehicles here in Flintshire are Private Hire vehicles, which must be booked through a licensed Private Hire Operator. They should always display a licence plate on the rear of the vehicle, and a window sticker in the front windscreen. Furthermore, the driver should have their licence badge on display.

Licensed drivers must complete a series of robust checks before becoming licensed. Don’t be tempted to seek ‘lifts’ through social media from unlicensed drivers who have not been vetted or checked, and may not be insured to carry paying passengers.

Private Hire vehicles can’t be hailed in the street. Only a licensed Private Hire Operator can take your booking. Please book in advance, and make sure that the vehicle you get into is the one you have booked.
