Digital customers

Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet will be asked to agree to a significant development of digital services enabling people to access many council services 24/7- opening up services to better meet customer demand. This exciting development builds on our Customer Services Strategy and enhances our use of digital technology. The proposals in the report include the setting up on an online individual customer account and a payment portal which will enable customers to buy a range of services online and from one point of access. There will be a range of services available digitally including housing, revenues and benefits, council tax and an active online chat facility. Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Corporate Management, Councillor Billy Mullin, said: “The Council’s future service delivery must be focused on simplifying the way customers access services. The clear advantage is that those users who find it easier to access services online will be able to do so, leaving those who need face to face or telephone contact to resolve more complex enquiries will have more support from customer service staff. “Over time, this approach will result in much needed savings to help the Council balance its annual budgets to protect local services. However, this is about modernising and improving the Council’s delivery of customer services by making the best and most appropriate use of digital technology.” The council approved its digital strategy and customer services strategy during 2017.
