Dragons Den Cymru is back and hoping to attract talented local people with new business ideas. This free business opportunity is open to anyone in Flintshire who has an idea, wants to be their own boss or needs help to get a business off the ground. Representatives from local companies make up a panel who act as mentors giving help and advice to people who present their ideas on the day. Included on the panel are Askar Sheibani, CEO of Comtek, Christine Sheibani, HR Director at Comtek, Paul Maddocks previously Parkway Telecom, Leyla Edward owner of KK Fine Foods, Mike Scott of Mike Scott Associates and Adam Butler from Easy On Line Recruitment The event is just one part of an Enterprise Information Shop taking place at Coleg Cambria, Connahs Quay on Friday 7 November from 10am - 2pm run by Communities First. Small businesses that have taken part in previous Dragons Den style events and the Flintshire Enterprise Club workshops will be on hand to explain how past events have helped their businesses. Representatives from education providers, Jobcentre Plus, Careers Wales, Business Wales and Flintshire County Council will offer support and advice along with volunteering opportunities and career advice. Councillor Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development said: “This is the fourth Dragons’ Den style event and just one of the ways in which Communities First is providing support and commitment to people starting a business. “It is all part of the excellent work that is taking place through the established Flintshire Business Entrepreneurship Network from Flintshire County Council, helping local people in their search for suitable employment.
