Published: 26/11/2014

Flintshire Connects will be open until 6.30pm during the Holywell Christmas lights switch-on celebrations this Friday (28 November). Members of the public are invited to call in and warm chilly fingers and toes, and will enjoy a welcome from: Greenfield Valley Museum, who will be displaying museum objects from winters past, including items used for making Christmas treats in Victorian times. They will also be sharing interesting Christmas customs of the past. The Councils Recycling team and their Love Food hate waste Love your Leftovers competition. Share money saving food tips and favourite leftover recipes for a chance to win a 3 course lunch at Y Celstryn at Coleg Cambria, Deeside, or a signed celebrity chef cook book. The Neighbourhood Community Wardens, who will be providing community safety advice and answering any community safety related questions. Flintshire Connects services will also be available on the night. Councilllor Billy Mullin, Cabinet Member for Corporate Management, said: Flintshire Connects Holywell has become an invaluable service to the people of Holywell and its surrounding towns and villages. It provides front line face to face customer service in a central, easily accessible location. Drawing significant crowds, the Holywell lights switch-on is always a highlight in the Connects calendar, when the Council and its partners has the opportunity to join in the festivities and open its doors to large numbers of local people. Whether you call in to interact with the activities on offer, to carry out normal Council business or simply have five minutes in the warm, away from the chilly November weather, you will be made very welcome.
