Single Integrated Plan
Published: 14/04/2014
A plan setting out commitments to improve the well being of Flintshire
residents is expected to be approved at a Cabinet meeting next Tuesday (15
April).
The Single Integrated Plan sets out a programme over four years, for the public
sector organisations and voluntary groups that make up Flintshire’s Local
Service Board (LSB) to work towards shared goals. The LSB is one of the highest
performing in Wales and a forward thinking partnership that works together to
make an impact. The plan deals with social issues by focusing on four priority
areas.
The first is to lead by example as employers and community leaders by
protecting and promoting the wellbeing of employees, volunteers and the
community and supporting and improving education, training and employment
prospects for employees and young people.
Keeping people are safe is another priority that will start by addressing
alcohol related problems in the community and aim to improve services for
vulnerable people focusing on domestic abuse. The third is to help people to
enjoy good health, wellbeing and independence by coordinating services and
responding to welfare reform. Finally taking on organisational environmental
practices will ensure a reduction in carbon footprint and a positive response
to climate change.
The Flintshire LSB is made up of senior leaders from public and voluntary
organisations: Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Coleg Cambria,
Flintshire County Council, Flintshire Local Voluntary Council, Glyndwr
University, Natural Resources Wales, North Wales Fire & Rescue Services, North
Wales Police, Public Health Wales, Wales Probation and Welsh Government.
Councillor Billy Mullin, Cabinet Member for Corporate Management said:
“By signing up to the plan, Flintshire Council and its partner organisations
can ensure they are working towards the same objectives for the benefit of
local residents. As a Council we are constantly looking at ways to enhance the
lives of local people and this plan sets a programme alongside the Council’s
Improvement Plan to help achieve this.”
Colin Everett, Chair of the Local Service Board said:
“Flintshire has a longstanding and proud track record of partnership working.
The communities we serve rightly expect the statutory and third sector partners
to work together, to work to shared priorities and, through collective effort,
to get things done.”
