Nappy and Absorbent Hygiene Products collection
We provide a free subscription service for collecting nappies and absorbent hygiene products (AHP) from your home, which includes an orange box and pink bags for storing and presenting waste for collection.
This service is for parents, foster carers, or those who regularly care for children who do not live with them (foster carers may be asked to provide evidence).
Nappy and absorbent hygiene products are collected weekly. The orange box can be collected from just inside your property boundary, but the collection crew must be able to see it.
We can collect:
- incontinence waste products such as liners
- bed and chair absorbent pads
- nappies
- wipes and tissues
For health and safety reasons, pink bags will be supplied to contain the waste. These pink bags should be placed inside the orange box.
We don’t collect feminine hygiene products, such as sanitary towels, panty liners and tampons as part of this service. You should wrap and place these in your black bin.

If you told us you need an orange box, we'll deliver one to you. We advise that you put your house name/number on the box. You can apply for another box using the online application if one box is not sufficient for your family’s needs.
When you need to get more pink bags, visit your local Connects Centre or speak to the crew on collection day.
Your collection service will last for 2 years from the day of registration. We will write to you when your collection is due to end. If you need to continue with the service after this time, you will need to re-register. Please contact Streetscene if you no longer need a collection.

- To register for the AHP Nappy Collection service, the person or persons requiring the service must reside at the given address on a permanent basis.
- The AHP/Nappy collection is available if you are foster carer or care for children on a regular basis but do not reside at the same address. Homes where AHP/Nappy users are only visiting family or friends are not entitled to the service.
- As part of the AHP / Nappy Collection service, we will collect:
- Disposable nappies and nappy sacks
- Incontinence care products, eg; single-use liners, bed and chair pads & absorbent bed sheets
- Wipes and paper tissues
- We will collect your AHP every week.
- AHP / Nappies must be presented in the pink bags provided, which should be placed inside the orange box with the lid firmly closed. For collection, the box should be placed where you would normally present your recycling containers, on your designated AHP/ Nappy Collection day ( this may differ from the usual recycling & waste collection day)
- AHP / Nappies will not be collected unless they are presented in the container and bags issued by the Authority
- We will not collect sanitary waste or feminine hygiene products, such as sanitary towels, tampons or liners as part of the AHP service. You should continue to place these in your black bin (non-recyclable waste) ensuring that they are securely bagged before disposal
- If you receive assisted collections, we will collect your AHP / nappies from within the boundary of your property where waste and recycling is routinely presented for collection.
- Unless stated otherwise this service will last for a total of two years, properties will automatically be removed and will need to reapply after this time
- If you do not use the AHP service for three consecutive collections, we will cancel your subscription and you will need to re-register. Please inform us if you need to suspend your AHP collections at any time.
- Flintshire County Council reserve the right to suspend or terminate collection for any household registered for an AHP/ nappy collection, due to the following:
- The service is being used to dispose of non-AHP materials
- The box is presented with the contents not bagged and secured
- The box is not cleansed regularly and presents a health hazard to the collection operatives
- Any other eventuality that constitutes a health hazard to crew, pedestrians or neighbours
- Abuse to FCC collection crews
