Published: 08/10/2026

A brand-new Health and Wellbeing Hub is set to open its doors in the heart of Mold, offering residents enhanced access to local healthcare, community support, and wellness services.

The initiative is being spearheaded by Hughes Pharmacy, with essential capital support awarded through Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns initiative administered and supported by Flintshire County Council’ Regeneration team.Hughes Healthcare.jpg

The new facility is designed to bring key health and wellbeing resources under one roof, expanding on the trusted pharmacy and clinical services Hughes Pharmacy already provides to the local community.

By locating these expanded services directly in the town centre, the hub will make healthcare support more accessible while driving footfall and vitality into Mold’s town centre.

Aligning with the broader vision of the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme, the project repurposes a prominent town centre premises into a vibrant, multi-functional space tailored to the evolving healthcare needs of residents.

A spokesperson for Hughes Pharmacy said: "We are delighted to bring this vision to life with the support of the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns Grant, as a long-standing partner in Mold's healthcare landscape, expanding our offer into a dedicated Health and Wellbeing Hub allows us to better serve our patients and community.

"This investment isn't just about healthcare—it's about keeping our high street thriving and care easily accessible for everyone."

The Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns initiative focuses on high street renewal, repurposing redundant spaces, and green infrastructure to foster sustainable growth in town centres across Wales.

Councillor Chris Dolphin, Cabinet Member for Environment, Regeneration, Countryside and Tourism, said: “We are thrilled to see this new town centre health hub take shape, which perfectly complements our vision for a vibrant, thriving Mold Town Centre.

"Repurposing commercial units like those in the Daniel Owen Precinct means we are not only expanding crucial diagnostic and consultation spaces for patients but also driving vital footfall to our local high street businesses.

"It makes healthcare genuinely accessible, putting modern primary care exactly where residents need it most while breathing new life into the town."

The new Health and Wellbeing Hub is now welcoming expressions of interest and arranging viewings for healthcare professionals seeking clinical consultation rooms to rent, with enquiries encouraged from both NHS and private practitioners.
