Trainee Induction
Published: 25/09/2014
The Chief Executive of Flintshire County Council, Colin Everett welcomed new
Council apprentices attending a staff induction course at Coleg Cambria,
Northop Campus.
Around 50 apprentices attended the two day event, and took part in a ‘Stock
Market Challenge’ demonstrating impressive analytical techniques and team
working skills.
Each year a number of apprentices are recruited to work in departments across
the Council. The apprentices usually attend Coleg Cambria on a day release
basis over two - three years whilst receiving training and assessment in the
workplace. Apprenticeships give people of all ages the opportunity to gain
qualifications whilst building their practical skills and experience in the
workplace.
Colin Everett, Chief Executive said: “The development of apprenticeships is a
key priority for the Council and I am delighted to welcome the councils new
apprentices.
“As a Council we want to continue to provide opportunities for people of all
ages to gain qualifications whilst building practical skills and experience in
the workplace.
“We are very proud of the Flintshire apprentice scheme and our partnership work
with Coleg Cambria.”
