Flintshire have been celebrating academic success at a special awards ceremony. Council employees, Independent Care Provider employees, volunteers and service users were rewarded for their hard work at the Civic Hall in Connah’s Quay. A wide range of educational awards were given to 149 people including QCF and NVQ qualifications, as well as Qualification Credit Frameworks and professional and vocational qualifications. The 12th annual event was opened by Neil Ayling, chief officer Social Services and the guest speaker was training facilitator Lesley Butt, who was inspired to train social care staff across the County after using the service herself. Staff and service users from across the whole of the social care workforce sector received their certificates from Councillor Christine Jones, Cabinet Member for Social Services, who said: “I was so pleased to have been at the ceremony and to present so many awards to our successful candidates; they were all well deserved. These awards are recognition of their hard work and I would like to congratulate everyone on their achievement.” Photo caption Some of the successful students who received their awards.
