Free School Meals Update September 2020

As not all year groups will be returning to school full-time during the first two weeks of the autumn term, those children who are entitled to free school meals will continue to receive a secure direct payment for the period 1 September to 11 September 2020.

During these two weeks and because parents/carers will receive a direct payment as they have done since May, their child(ren) will not receive a free school meal on the days they attend school.  

Parents/carers will, therefore, need to provide their child(ren) with a packed lunch or money to purchase a meal using the schools preferred payment method. 

From Monday 14 September, child(ren) will start receiving free school meals as normal and the direct payments will stop.

Year 12 pupils 

If child(ren) are returning to year 12 and are eligible to free school meals, parents/carers will need to reapply on line via Flintshire County Councils web site.
