Flintshire Trainee - Business Administration (Revenues Team)

What the team do:

  • Responsible for the administration and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry debt and cash income reconciliation.
  • Speak to taxpayers and rate payers on a daily basis over the phone and in writing to provide help and support to pay their council tax, business rates and sundry debts. 
  • Advise on relevant discounts/exemptions/reductions that taxpayers and ratepayers may be able to claim to reduce their Council Tax or Business Rates and how to claim them.

What you would get involved with:

  • Update customer records using computerised systems
  • Support the service by undertaking a varied and interesting range of office activities including referencing and indexing of incoming mail using our Document Management and Workflow system
  • Deal with all aspects of direct debit processing 
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets and provide statistical information in a variety of formats
  • Regular contact with customers over the phone dealing with routine enquires
  • Review cases prior to allocation to Agents for the purpose of verifying contact details
  • Cash movement and reconciling payments to ensure they are made to the correct balances
  • And much more! 

Qualification

  • Business Administration Level 2 /3
