Community Provisions and Transition Clubs

Community Provisions

Our Community Provisions are delivered in the week, in several areas across Flintshire for children aged 5 – 15 usually between the hours of 4:00pm and 5:30pm.

Where are we?

  • Mondays – Holway Meadowbank
  • Tuesdays – Mostyn, Ysgol Bryn Pennant (3:30pm – 5:00pm) / Buckley, Nant Mawr Rec. Ground
  • Wednesdays – Penyffordd, Play Area (Holywell)

What to expect...

  • Our provisions allow children to have equal play opportunities in an outdoor setting.
  • Children have the right to freely chosen, self-directed and intrinsically motivated opportunities to play – as stated in the Playwork Principles and Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
  • A safe and inclusive environment to gain new skills, gain confidence and flourish with creativity.

Aims and Objectives

  • For children to experience a range of play opportunities, using outdoor spaces with a variety of play resources.
  • To improve resilience and support emotional well-being through physical activity and social interaction.
  • To build positive relationships with the children and families in our communities, with a strong rapport as a team.

Transition Clubs

Our Transition Clubs are delivered in the week, at youth clubs in Flintshire for primarily children aged 9 – 13 between the hours of 4:00pm – 5:30pm.

Where are we?

  • Mondays – Greenfield (Greenfield Community Centre, Greenfield)
  • Tuesdays – Sealand (Outdoor Provision - Sealand Youth Centre, Garden City)
  • Thursdays – Leeswood (Leeswood Youth Club, Ysgol Derwenfa)

What to expect...

  • Our clubs allow children to have equal play opportunities in a youth club setting.
  • An opportunity to socialise and make new friends.
  • A safe and inclusive environment to gain new skills, gain confidence and flourish with creativity.
  • A place to learn through educative and playful topics, through awareness days and worldwide celebrations.

Aims and Objectives

  • To support children who are transitioning from Primary School to Secondary school.
  • To empower children and young people through play activities, whilst using a safe space to socialise.
  • To help build confidence and instil new roles and responsibilities for children.
