Was your child born between 1 September 2023 and 31 August 2024?
Will they have reached the age of 3 by August 31st, 2027?
If so, your child will have the opportunity to start at a school nursery in September 2027.
Applications for this main round will open on Monday 4th January 2027.
You will be unable to apply before this date.

When applying for nursery in September 2027 please be aware of the following:
- Nursery education is offered at our primary schools on the basis of two and a half hour sessions, five times per week, during the school year.
- Funded nursery education is not available at any other childcare setting.
- Attending a Funded Early Education class at a particular primary school does not guarantee subsequent admission to nursery class at that school. A fresh application will be required.
- You need to apply by the closing date to be considered an on-time application.
- Any applications received after the closing date will be considered as ‘late’ applications; this includes any amendments to on-time applications received after this point (see below timetable)
- Any applications received after the allocation period cannot be processed until after Nursery Offer Day.
