Employees are able to access IT systems remotely via a portal accessible on both personal and work computers. Security is managed by a remote access token (also known as an RSA token). The RSA token can be in the form of a mobile phone app or a key fob.

I’ve used FlintMAP before, but need to set up a new token?

• You will need to set up a 4 digit pin for the new token
• Type: https://flintmap.flintshire.gov.uk into your internet bar
• You will get the log in screen
• In the "Passcode" box type the 6 digits displayed on your RSA Token and click "Log On" 
• A new window will appear asking you to choose a 4 digit pin code. Enter your chosen pin code and click "next". 
• You should now be directed to the window below. Enter your chosen pin code followed by the six digit number on your RSA Token (with no spaces). 
• You will need to wait for the six digit number on the RSA Token to change before typing it in.  

I don’t have remote access, how do I get it?

• Contact your manager.

I have been told I need to set up "MFA". What is it and what do I need to do?

• "MFA" stands for Multi Factor Authentication. It is additional security, on top of a username and password. Microsoft MFA is needed to get up and running with Email and Microsoft Teams.  I used to have a “Desktops” option when I worked from home. It has disappeared. What do I do?

The Council has limited capacity for people to remotely access IT systems using a “Desktop” from home. Fortunately, most of the Council’s systems can also be accessed using Citrix Storefront  Apps. If you can’t find the app that you need on the Favourites screen, Click on Apps. See FlintMAP User Instruction Manual (For Standard Users) for pictures of how it should look.

“Desktop” access is now limited to people who can’t use their IT application any other way. If you don’t have access to “Desktop”, and you think that you should have it, please log an IT Helpdesk call through TOPdesk and provide details of what you are trying to access.

 

What are the councils polices on home working?

• The Council’s polices are all available from the Infonet, which can be accessed from FlintMAP and Flint PSN.
• Scroll down to the bottom of the Home page and click on “Policies, Forms and Procedures”
• Click on the Policies A to Z
• Type “Agile Working” in the search box and click on the search button
